In the fast-paced world of hip-hop, where artists continually strive for recognition and dominance, rap feuds are far from uncommon. One such feud that has caught the attention of fans and the industry alike is the ongoing battle between Ice Spice and Latto.

The Latest Shot: "Think U The Shit (Fart)"

Ice Spice, a rising star from the Bronx, recently released her single "Think U The Shit (Fart)," and it didn't take long for fans and critics to notice the apparent jabs aimed at Latto. The track, produced by RIOTUSA, Synthetic, and venny, features a pounding, video game-inspired beat that sets the stage for Ice Spice's fiery lyrics. She raps lines like "I got my foot on they necks, I can't let up, she all on the floor, told her get up." This seems to be a direct nod to Latto's hit song "Put It On Da Floor," sparking further controversy in their ongoing feud.

A History of Subliminals

This feud has been brewing for a while, with both artists exchanging subliminal shots in their music. Ice Spice started shading Latto in her tracks last year, making references to "Put It On Da Floor." On the deluxe edition of her debut EP, "Like..?" released in July, Ice Spice borrowed a line from Biggie Smalls, rapping, "Now she all on the floor when I kick in the door, how you mad I do less 'cause you gotta do more?"

Latto responded in a similar fashion during her guest verse on Offset's "Set It Off" album. She referenced Ice Spice's breakout hit "Munch (Fellin' U)" with lines like "That n***a a munch, yo bookin' fee, ate it for lunch, I don't do backends, need it up front, I'm big dawg, you bitches is runts."

Behind the Scenes Drama

The feud extends beyond the music, with Ice Spice shedding light on the competition among female artists in the industry during an interview with Variety. She stated, "It is a competition at the end of the day. People want to be all, 'I'm a girl's girl,' but then behind the scenes being bitches. Basically, we here, the girls, are doing amazing. I'm excited to see it. I feel like the competition is what keeps us all excited because I think we all secretly enjoy competing and seeing who put that shit on better and who's gon' get the most views."

Origins of the Feud

The feud's origins trace back to accusations of copying. Latto faced allegations of imitating Ice Spice's signature bent-over pose. Latto responded to these claims, asserting, "Every time y'all accuse me of copying folks ima clear it up. Nun mo nun less. I don't like how y'all take my tweets & make them fit ur weak ass narratives."

As this ongoing feud continues to capture the attention of fans and the hip-hop community, the rivalry between Ice Spice and Latto serves as a testament to the competitive nature of the industry and the determination of these talented artists to establish their dominance.
